Release Notes: Here's What's New in Your Ontic Platform (iOS v6.0.1)

Summary
Entity Lifecycle Management
What it is: We’ve brought our entity upgrades to mobile! You’ll now have more details and insights about your entities, along with an easier user experience. Make sure to review the upgraded experience, including the detail tab, as well as file and folder tab.
Why it matters: More data and insights on our entities accessible on mobile devices makes Ontic more accessible, resulting in a better understanding of entities and the risk they present.
How it works: Update the Ontic app on your mobile device. Tap on ‘View Entity’ from the iOS home screen.
From the Entity section, choose an entity to dive into. You’ll now see the upgraded entity screen which better emulates the desktop version of Ontic.
Files and Folder Integration
What it is: In the new iOS, users will now see the Files section as a tab with an entity, as well as folders and files emulating our desktop version. Currently, there is no support to add files from mobile but the user will be able to preview and download all the files and folders added from the web.
Why it matters: Having easier access to these files on the mobile app will make usage of Ontic more streamlined and powerful for users.
How it works: Within the entity section, click on an entity. Choose the ‘Files’ tab to access all the files and folders associated with that entity.
Entity Principals and Associated Principals
What it is: In the upgraded mobile app, users can now see the principals that an entity is associated with has been added in the entity details page.
Why it matters: While on mobile, users will be looking into an entity and determining which of their principals that entity is connected to. Now you have that data at your fingertips.
How it works: Within the entity section, click on an entity. Within the ‘Details’ tab, choose ‘Associated Principals’ to view the connections.
Indication that filters have been applied
What it is: When users apply a filter on an entity or observation, there is now a visual indicator that there are some filters applied.
Why it matters: Previously, without a visual indicator, users were not aware that filters were applied. This will lead to more accurate and trustworthy data.
How it works: After filtering in mobile, users will see the a blue dot, denoting a filter has been applied;
Display the Entity count and/or Observation count
What it is: Users are now able to see the number of entities on each workspace or the number of entities / observations when filtered by specific attributes.
Why it matters: Showing the count on each object will be helpful for users to understand scale and scope, resulting in a better understanding of their threat landscape.
How it works: Users will see the number of items in parenthesis at the top of their mobile app.
Removed System Alerts Signal/feed
What it is: The Alerts Signal feed has been removed from mobile.
Why it matters: Not all signals are supported in mobile as of yet, so this will create less confusion for users.
