Release Date: July 1, 2019
Here are the latest updates from our team to improve your Ontic experience.
Live Feeds (Beta) - Updates
The customizable intelligence feeds in a multi-column view previously known as “Feeds (Beta)”, has seen a number of improvements based on your feedback.
- A “New Feed” button was added to the page for expedited creation of additional feeds.
- The user interface was improved to support your work flows and navigation of the platform.
- A full-screen view option is now available for you to use, allowing you to maximize the real estate for your incoming intelligence signals.
Live Feeds (Beta) - “New Feed” Button
What it is: A “New Feed” button was added to the Live Feeds (Beta) Dashboard.
Why it matters: The addition of this button allows for expedited creation of additional feeds.
How it works: When you navigate to the Live Feeds (Beta) Dashboard, you will notice the new button near the top right corner of the dashboard. When you click this button, you will be prompted with options to add a new feed panel to your dashboard.
Live Feeds (Beta) - User Experience / User Interface
What it is: The user interface of the Live Feeds (Beta) Dashboard was improved.
Why it matters: Minor changes to the user interface were made to improve your experience in executing workflows and navigation of the platform.
How it works: From the Live Feeds (Beta) Dashboard, changes in imagery were made, in addition to the placement and types of information included within the various feed columns.
Here are four important changes to note, as it relates to how the incoming information in the Feeds are presented to you (refer to below image):
- This heading states the reason for the signal (such as "bolo report generated," "signal received," etc.) and the time that the signal arrived in the Ontic platform.
- This shows the entity/POI that the signal is associated with.
- Here, the actual content (such as a release record or similar signal) is presented.
- This is the time that the activity occurred (different from the time that Ontic captured the information and brought it into the platform).
Live Feeds (Beta) - Full-Screen View
What it is: A full-screen view option is now available for you to use within the Live Feeds (Beta), allowing you to maximize the real estate of your Live Feeds (Beta) Dashboard.
Why it matters: For users that find themselves dedicating a screen to incoming signals, this new option enables them to consume signals faster and more efficiently.
How it works: From the Live Feeds (Beta) Dashboard, you will see a box-like icon near the top right corner of the screen. Clicking this icon will expand the current view to fit your entire screen. To return to the original screen, you may hit the “escape” key or re-click the full screen icon.
Facial Recognition Search Actions
What it is: When you conduct a facial recognition search and a match is discovered, you may add the searched image directly to its associated entity profile with the click of a button.
Why it matters: This enables you to take quick action on newly discovered entity images.
How it works: After you conduct a facial recognition search, you will be prompted with a drop-down of the (likely) associated entity with a confidence score. In order to add this new image to the associated profile, you can click the blue “plus” sign and the image will be added to that entity’s profile immediately.
Ontic Home Page
*Ask your Ontic Success Team for more information about enabling this feature in your platform.
What it is: A home page was added to give you a comprehensive view of the activity in your platform.
Why it matters: This page brings important aspects of your platform front and center, so that you can easily see what actions your team members have been taking, intelligence trends, and items requiring your attention.
How it works: The home page may be accessed from the main navigation (first option displayed at the top) or by clicking the “Ontic Technologies” logo in the top left corner of the screen. The home page itself displays four sections, plus a sidebar for recently accessed entities:
- Quick Access: This section provides you with links to the most accessed pages of the platform.
- Ontic Intelligence: This section shows you a snapshot of your platform’s intelligence capabilities at work, as well as the volume of entity information you’re storing.
- Recommended Actions: This section serves to highlight items that require more attention. For example, those entities that have not had Identity Intelligence run on them or entity profiles that are missing information necessary to activate Risk Intelligence.
- Team Actions: This section gives you an overview of actions recently taken by your team such as entities created, BOLO reports generated, and more.
